Top of the World Jeep Tours
There’s no better view of Lake Tahoe than from the Genoa Peak Trail on our Top of the World Tour. Our open Jeep Scramblers have got room for you and up to five friends, plus a professional guide as your driver. Our guides are experts at both off-pavement driving and keeping you entertained. We’ll tell you about the rich history of the Lake Tahoe Basin, the plants, animals, and people that inhabit the place, and some of the amazing stories that are told here. Some of those stories might even be true.
A Genoa Peak tour climbs from the Stateline casino area on the Kingsbury Grade, following an old Pony Express path. Our route shares a trailhead with the spectacular Tahoe Rim Trail and we wave to bicyclists, hikers, and equestrians as we lock in the hubs and leave the pavement. From there the trail climbs and follows the ridgetops up, up, and away. You’ll travel through dense groves of pine and fir, pass granite outcroppings, open sagebrush clearings, and finally break out above treeline on a rugged trail up 9,150-foot Genoa Peak. To the west see the blue world of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Crest beyond. To the east look out on the beautiful Carson Valley and the edge of the Great Basin.
A Genoa Peak Jeep tour runs approximately two hours and requires a two-person minimum; call for pricing. The trails usually open in June and close for winter in October
Top of the World Hummer Tours
The H-1 Hummer is the civilian version of the US military’s High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle – the Humvee. We’ve got them and we take them out on the trails. Hire one of our Hummers and a professional Lake Tahoe Adventures guide will take you and up to six friends on a spectacular tour high above Lake Tahoe. If the only time you’ve ever seen a Hummer was in the parking lot of a grocery store, you’ll be amazed at the capabilities of this fantastic machine. If you’ve been out on trails in Jeeps or other four-by-fours, this will be a very special trip in a very different vehicle. The Hummer is big, burly, and powerful. Its sophisticated design and technology allows it to travel smoothly and gently over very rough terrain. You’ll sit back in comfort as your guide takes you and the Hummer over some eye-popping obstacles.
Our Hummer tours require a three-person minimum. The basic tour to the top of Genoa Peak lasts approximately two hours. We can accomodate 7 adults along with 2 additional children. Call for pricing.
