Scenic Trail Tours

Lake Tahoe Adventures has been taking visitors from around the world on scenic backcountry snowmobile tours for more than twenty years. Experienced professional guides lead small groups into the wild Sierra highcountry and bring them back smiling.

Summit Tour

The trailhead is in beautiful Hope Valley, at 7,200 feet elevation, just south of Lake Tahoe in Alpine County, California. After a brief orientation, a safety talk, and driving instruction, guests drive themselves, following their guide. The trail climbs rapidly, quickly heading deep into the backcountry. Looking west across Faith Valley, visitors see the dramatic Sierra Crest at nearly 10,000 feet.

Crossing Charity Valley below Markleeville Peak the trail passes historic cabins built by early settlers. Following the rim of Charity Canyon and another climb to 8,300 feet, it levels out for a view of a peak very appropriately named The Nipple.

The guides at Lake Tahoe Adventures are expert at teaching beginning snowmobilers. Once out on the trail they continually assess the ability of the group and tailor the tour to deliver the best experience for everyone. With many miles of groomed trails in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, every tour offers tremendous scenic opportunities. Some of the possibilities are Tamarack Lake, Raymond Peak, Jeff Davis Peak, and Lower Blue Lake.

The most popular choice with beginning riders is the Summit Tour on groomed trails. It lasts approximately two hours including orientation and rest and photo stops. Tours are priced as singles or double with several options for children riders. Call for pricing.

Those seeking a more challenging experience will be interested in an Ultimate Tour. These leave the groomed trails and take riders even deeper into the most rugged terrain the area has to offer. Guides leading Ultimate Tours are some of the best snowmobile pilots in the west and can take anyone out to the limits of their ability. This is an excellent choice for any adventurous, athletic enthusiast and ideal for experienced riders who want to tune their skills.
